Programme
Environment & Plantation
We plant with schoolchildren rather than for them. A sapling a ten-year-old put in the ground herself gets watered for years; one planted at a ceremony rarely survives the season.

How it works
Our plantation drives run through partner schools. Students choose, plant and take responsibility for saplings on school and village land, and the programme is deliberately scheduled so the same cohort returns to the same trees.
Each World Environment Day we run a programme of painting competitions, talks and prize-givings. The competitions are the serious part: they are how a village full of children spends an afternoon thinking carefully about the land they live on.
Environmental protection sits in our registered objects alongside agriculture development, and the two are run together, because conservation that ignores how a family earns from the land does not last.
